Demography is the science of populations. Applied Demography is the subfield of demography that focuses on practical applications for decision-making purposes. Riddhi’s census GIS is a tool for Applied Demographers.
Riddhi was the Technical Partner of the Registrar General of India, Ministry of Home Affairs; Government of India for Census GIS India 2001 for developing a web based GIS (in WhizMap™), from the State level of India to sub-district level. Riddhi released village level Census GIS of districts of India after Census 2011. Inter-alia, the system provides demographic information (population, population density, religion, profession, educational status, sex ratio, and work participation) in each of the 6,40,867 revenue villages of India. The system allows generating thematic maps based on Census data, on an interactive basis using GIS technology. The users may view thematic maps on any subject pertaining to Indian demography.
